Ethiopian Incursion into Greater Al-Fashaga and Targeting of Displaced Camp Amid Warnings of Agricultural Season Disruption

The “Greater Al-Fashaga” region witnessed a field incursion by an Ethiopian force advancing two kilometers inside Sudanese territory near the Al-Qadima area—a move observers view as an attempt to divert attention from the internal unrest and crises surrounding the Abiy Ahmed regime.

The incursion was accompanied by Ethiopian shelling that targeted a camp for displaced persons near the border strip. The same camp was targeted yesterday by Ethiopian drones, resulting in the deaths of three Ethiopian citizens.

Although the situation remains calm on the ground for now, this regional escalation raises serious concerns over potential efforts to disrupt the agricultural season in a region containing over three million acres of fertile land, where competing international interests and ambitions intersect.
