Women Empowerment Initiative Concludes in East Nile

The activities of a five-day training workshop concluded on Thursday in Haj Yousif Al-Radmia, Block 18, East Nile locality. The workshop was implemented by Relief International in collaboration with the Khatwa Project as part of a livelihood enhancement and women’s income improvement program.

The closing ceremony witnessed the distribution of sewing machines and tailoring supplies to 26 women beneficiaries from the Mayo Goma and Al-Takamul areas. In addition, financial support was provided to enable the participants to establish small income-generating businesses, contributing to their economic empowerment and strengthening the role of women within their communities.

The event was attended by Eng. Ruqia Al-Mahi Haj Al-Awad, Assistant Director General of the Technology Transfer and Extension Sector at the Ministry of Agriculture, along with Maria, Coordinator of NGO Affairs at the Ministry, and representatives of the Humanitarian Aid Commission, Abdel Rahim Al-Bara’i Ismail and Marwa Siddig. Representative of Relief International, led by Dr. Ezzeldin, also participated in the closing ceremony.

Speakers highlighted the importance of such initiatives in supporting and economically empowering women, emphasizing the need for continued partnerships and community cooperation to strengthen productive capacities and improve the economic stability of beneficiary families.

The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to all partners and stakeholders involved in implementing the project, praising the positive impact of both the training and support provided. They noted that the project represents a significant initiative for enhancing women’s capacities and improving livelihood opportunities in East Nile locality.

The project is part of ongoing efforts to support women and promote their economic participation through vocational training and the provision of productive tools necessary to establish sustainable small businesses.
