(SAPA) announces the success of the Ramadan 2026 project to support thousands of families in Sudan and refugees in neighboring countries.

The Sudanese Physicians Association of the United States (SAPA) has announced the report of the annual humanitarian project to support those affected by war during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 2026. With a total budget of $1.5 million, SAPA has successfully implemented cross-border humanitarian interventions in Sudan, Chad, and Uganda, providing a lifeline for hundreds of thousands of displaced people and refugees.

Field Figures and Achievements
The final report of the project revealed record numbers in reaching beneficiaries, as daily iftar meals were provided to more than 712,000 individuals in the three countries. Field teams also distributed integrated food baskets that benefited more than 16,544 people from the most vulnerable groups.
In Sudan, the operations covered 9 states, including Khartoum, Darfur, Kordofan, White Nile, and Kassala،
and Gedaref, relied on a dual model that combines community kitchens and food basket distribution.

In Chad, around 4,000 daily meals were provided to Sudanese refugees in Adri camp and host communities, with special baskets distributed to people with disabilities. In Uganda, the project targeted refugees in Kiriandungu camp and the capital, Kampala, with a focus on survivors of violence and abuse.

Strategic partnerships to maximize impact: SAPA confirmed that the success of this intervention came as a result of close coordination with local authorities and partner organizations to ensure that aid reaches those who deserve it and to prevent duplication of services.

The project focused primarily on households headed by women, children, and the elderly, aiming to go beyond mere provision of food to promote human dignity and social cohesion.
