Cabinet’s Development Sector Discusses Establishing Economic Projects in the States

The Cabinet’s Economic Development Sector, in its meeting chaired by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, today (Sunday) in Khartoum, reviewed priority projects for the years 2026-2027.

The sector discussed projects of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which included establishing integrated complexes for the production of vegetable oils in states with a comparative advantage in oilseed crops. These complexes are intended to serve as a nucleus for rebuilding the food industries and increasing the added value of agricultural products. The projects also included establishing complexes for livestock products, creating a national garment incubator, and projects that contribute to providing sustainable job opportunities for youth in the states.

The meeting also reviewed projects of the Ministry of Minerals related to geological surveying and mineral exploration, establishing a database to help regulate work in the minerals sector, and the Red Sea Treasures project, which aims to exploit minerals in Sudanese waters to contribute to supporting the national economy.
