Jaber Arrives in Kinshasa for the 9th Summit of the Great Lakes Region

Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, arrived today in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, leading the Sudanese delegation participating in the 9th Summit of the Great Lakes Region. The summit will be held today, Saturday, November 15th, in Kinshasa. He is accompanied by Salma Ishaq Mohamed Khalifa, Minister of State at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare, along with a number of other officials.

He was received at Kinshasa International Airport by the Congolese Minister of Tourism, Dida Mazinga Mukanzo, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Muawiya Othman Khalid, the Head of the Sudanese Mission in Kinshasa, Ambassador Othman Hussein Al-Amin, and members of the diplomatic mission.

The summit is expected to discuss issues of strengthening security, peace, and stability, and to issue resolutions and recommendations that contribute to addressing current challenges in the region, given the security situation and the effects of ongoing conflicts in several countries in the region.

On the sidelines of the summit, Sovereign Council member Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber will also meet with a number of heads of state and delegations to discuss Sudanese issues and its bilateral relations with those countries.
