President of the Democratic Republic of Congo Receives Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber

President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, received today Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, on the sidelines of his participation in the 9th Summit of the Great Lakes Region, which is being held in Kinshasa.

His Excellency conveyed to the Congolese President the greetings of Head and members of the Sovereignty Council and the Sudanese government to the people and government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, expressing Sudan’s appreciation for Kinshasa’s supportive stance towards peace efforts in Sudan and the strengthening of bilateral relations to serve the interests of both peoples.

Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber also affirmed Sudan’s commitment to continuing its serious efforts to end the rebellion, which has exacerbated the suffering of the Sudanese people and complicated the humanitarian situation in the country.

The Sovereignty Council member indicated that Sudan is committed to working with its friends on the African continent and in the Great Lakes region to develop African integration aimed at achieving peace and the advancement of the continent’s countries.
