The Federal Minister of Health meets Prof. Al-Fahal and appreciates his role towards schistosomiasis patients

Within the framework of the Federal Ministry of Health’s interest in neglected tropical diseases, including schistosomiasis, the Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, met with Prof. Ahmed Al-Fahal, Director of the Schistosomiasis Center of the University of Khartoum, at the Minister’s Office in Khartoum.

The Minister appreciated the great efforts made by Prof. Al-Fahal in providing services and care to schistosomiasis patients spread across various states of Sudan, stressing the Ministry’s support and appreciation for this ongoing humanitarian work. The Minister called on donors and partners to rehabilitate the Schistosomiasis Center, which is considered the first in the world in terms of therapeutic, community, research, and scientific services.

Prof. Al-Fahal expressed his happiness with this meeting, praising the existing cooperation and coordination between the center and the ministry,and revealed discussions that addressed the challenges facing patients and ways to enhance health services for them.

The two parties affirmed the continuation of cooperation between the Federal Ministry of Health and the Mystoma Center, which contributes to improving the quality of life for patients and expanding the scope of services provided to them.
