Minister of Higher Education Stresses the Importance of Enhancing the Role of Private Universities and Colleges in Community Service

Prof. Ahmed Mudawi Moussa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, praised the vital role played by private universities and colleges in providing distinguished education through advanced educational programs that meet the needs of the local, regional, and international labor market. He stressed that these institutions represent a key tributary to the higher education system in the country and contribute to absorbing the growing demand for university education.

He added that the Ministry pays special attention to enhancing the role of these institutions in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in accordance with the Ministry’s vision. This came during his meeting at his temporary office in Port Sudan with Dr. Iman Bashir Nour Al-Daem, Dean of Al-Nahda College, and her accompanying delegation, in the presence of Ali Al-Sheikh Al-Samani, Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Abdel Qadir Mohamed Hassan, Director of the General Directorate of Private, Private and Foreign Higher Education, and Dr. Mortada Ali Othman, Director of the Ministerial Executive Office.

Prof. Mudawi praised Al-Nahda College as a distinguished educational edifice, stressing that it represents a model of private sector cooperation in supporting and developing higher education.

Dr. Iman Bashir reviewed the most prominent academic and research activities that led Al-Nahda College to achieve stability in the educational process, providing a comprehensive enlightenment on the college’s performance in the past period, stressing the importance of continuing studies at the college’s headquarters in Khartoum state, in line with the state’s policy aimed at achieving stability for the citizens of Khartoum state. She added that the college graduated an estimated number of its students despite the exceptional circumstances that the country is going through.
