Minister of Education Meets with his Qatari Counterpart
Dr. Al-Tuhami Al-Zein Hajar, Minister of Education and National Training, met today with Ms. Lulwa bint Rashid Al-Khater, Qatar’s Minister of Education and Higher Education, on the sidelines of the 43rd session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and reviewed opportunities for collaboration in educational programs and initiatives, particularly in e-learning and the exchange of educational expertise, which contributes to enhancing the development of the educational process in both countries.
Dr. Al-Tuhami is leading the Sudanese delegation participating in the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which is being held outside Paris for the first time in 40 years. The conference opened last Thursday and will continue until November 13.
The conference is expected to draw between 4,000 and 5,000 participants from 194 countries, including heads of state, ministers, official delegates, experts, and prominent international figures.
The conference will address global issues such as the ethics of artificial intelligence, the protection of cultural heritage, the future of education, and the amendment of the first global recommendation on the ethics of neurotechnology. It will feature parliamentary sessions, committee meetings, cultural exhibitions, and side events, including the inauguration of a “green garden” for sustainability and discussions on women’s rights and the role of artificial intelligence in heritage preservation. The conference will be held at the Silk Road Samarkand Convention Center.
The conference is expected to focus on the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges. One session will discuss the ethics of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the importance of related ethical issues.
The conference will also address education and sustainable development, stressing the need to develop skills for a sustainable future.
