(The International Day of the Girl is October 11, 2025, this day falls on Saturday.
The United Nations’ celebration of International Day of the Girl in 2025 aims to highlight girls’ rights and the challenges they face. March 8 is the International Women’s Day, which is different from the Day of the Girl.
Every year, on October 11th, the world celebrates the International Day of the Girl (the Child), established by the United Nations in 2011. This day serves as an opportunity to highlight girls’ rights and highlight the challenges they face in education, health, community participation, and economic empowerment.
Despite significant progress in some areas, girls in many parts of the world still face structural barriers that prevent them from accessing equal opportunities, making this day a renewed call to intensify efforts for a more just and equitable future.
First: Recent global figures and facts: points include a UNESCO data, 122 million girls around the world are out of school, including 34 million girls in primary school.
Second: The status of girls in Egypt: points include a World Bank report, Egypt scored 50.6 points out of 100 on the Women, Business and the Law index, ranking 175th out of 190 countries globally.
Third: The most prominent challenges: includes School dropout due to poverty, early marriage, or weak educational infrastructure in villages.
Fourth: Steps towards empowerment: includes Investing in quality education for girls and ensuring their continued enrolment through university.
A global celebration here in Sudan. Bit Makali Organization is celebrating Women from October 10 to 15th. The celebrations will include:-
1. Mental Health Day, focusing on women’s health amidst the challenges of war.
2. Girl’s Day, through training, lectures, and health education.
3. Rural Women’s Day, highlighting the importance of sustainable development through transformational training and occupational therapy.
4. Mobile psychological visits.
5. Training in cities and rural areas.
6. Early detection and awareness of breast cancer.
