Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohammed Praises Strong Sudanese-Kuwaiti Relations
Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohammed Mohammed Tahir praised the strength of bilateral relations between Sudan and the State of Kuwait and expressed her appreciation for Kuwait’s supportive stances toward the Sudanese people in regional and international forums, in addition to its efforts to address the humanitarian impact of the war.
The Sovereignty Council member added, during her meeting today with the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan, Ambassador Dr. Fahd Al-Dhafiri, in the presence of the Governor of the Red Sea State, that while most countries have limited their efforts in Sudan to providing humanitarian aid, Kuwait has distinguished itself by entering into investments and has moved beyond humanitarian aid to promoting and encouraging investment.
Dr. Nuwara affirmed the government’s commitment to providing an attractive environment for investment and developing all economic sectors.
She praised the partnership between the Kuwait Investment Company and the Kuwait Real Estate Company with the Red Sea State through the Arous Tourist Resort project, which is one of the projects promoting the tourism sector in Sudan.
For his part, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Sudan, Dr. Fahad Al-Dhafiri, said that his meeting with the Sovereignty Council member gave a positive impression of the level of security and encouragement to attract more Kuwaiti investments and capital through the private sector to Sudan in general and the eastern states in particular, to establish investment and development projects, affirming Kuwait’s developmental and humanitarian role.
The Kuwaiti Ambassador described the Arous Resort as a vital project, noting that the Kuwaiti company, through its partnership with the Red Sea State, is responsible for implementing 80% of the project by establishing the infrastructure, which includes a tourist hotel, a residential area, and energy projects, with the aim of attracting tourism to Port Sudan.
Furthermore, the Governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, praised the interest and follow-up of the Transitional Sovereignty Council member, Dr. Nuwara discussed development and service projects in the state, explaining that the Bride project is based on a partnership between the state and the Kuwaiti Real Estate Company, which will contribute to the development of the region and increase the state’s tourism attractions.
