PM Stresses the Importance of Regulating the Mining Process According to New Visions and Controls

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris stressed the importance of regulating the mining process according to new visions and controls, which protect the sector from corruption and ensure maximum benefit to citizens through growth and prosperity.
He noted that the Government of Hope attaches great importance to the sector due to its impact on the national economy.
In his office in Port Sudan today, the Prime Minister listened to a briefing from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Dr. Hind Al-Siddiq, on the challenges and future visions for the mining sector.
Dr. Hind said in press statements, “We have received full support from the Prime Minister to advance the sector to achieve maximum benefit and support the national economy.”
She noted that the meeting discussed ways to preserve the environment, prevent waste of resources, and maximize sector revenues for the benefit of the country.
She noted that the Prime Minister’s remarks focused on the importance of promoting sustainable mining practices in accordance with international standards, in terms of regulation, oversight, and optimal use of revenues. She also expressed the Ministry’s full cooperation with the Prime Minister to advance the sector.
