Khartoum Governor inspects the largest seizure made by the GIS in Ombada

Khartoum Governor, Ahmed Osman Hamza, inspected the largest seizure made by the General Intelligence Service (GIS) in Ombada. The seizure was attended by the Director of Security for Greater Omdurman, Major General Walid Bayoumi; the Director General of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism, Al-Tayeb Saad Al-Din; and the Executive Director of the Ombada Locality, Abu Al-Qasim Adam Al-Tahir.

The Director of Security for the Ombada Locality stated that the seizure included machines for printing national and foreign currencies, a quantity of printed currency, weapons, and aluminum ingots.

praised the vigilance of the security forces, calling for further investigation into the seized items, considering that the entrances to Ombada, on the one hand, pose a serious security threat. The Governor urged the security services to pursue collaborators and criminals who loot citizens’ property and sell it in the markets.
He also directed the removal of all informal settlements and activities, announcing the state government’s support for the GIS to carry out its role, in addition to supporting the Joint Task Force and the Security Cell.

The Executive Director of Ombada Locality praised the seizure and stated that his locality has begun regularizing the locality’s affairs, appointing administrative unit directors, and initiating cleaning and rehabilitation work, in support of the locality after it was declared free of rebel militias.
