AUPSC arrives in Port Sudan and holds an important meeting

A delegation from the African Peace and Security Council arrived in Port Sudan today on a visit to Sudan to discuss the file of the rebel Rapid Support Militia and ways to end the crisis.
Immediately after the delegation arrived, intensive meetings were held with officials in the Council of Ministers in the presence of 1st. Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, and Attorney General Tayfour to discuss a number of files related to the current crisis and the practices carried out by the Rapid Support Militia.
It is noteworthy that the African Peace and Security Council is keen to enhance solidarity with the Sudanese people, support the Sudanese state institutions, and prepare the Council and the African Union to review the situation and assume responsibilities to push efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis.
The visit of the African Peace and Security Council delegation is the first since the outbreak of the Sudanese crisis.
