Al-Burhan arrives in Angola

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan arrived today in the Angolan capital, Luanda, on an official visit in response to an invitation from Angolan President João Lourenço.

An official reception ceremony was held for the Head of the Sovereignty Council at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Luanda.

The two sides entered into joint official talks that touched on the deep-rooted relations between Sudan and Angola and ways to support and develop it for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

The two sides affirmed their desire to enhance the prospects of joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

During his meeting with the Angolan President, Head of the Sovereignty Council provided a detailed explanation of the current situation in Sudan against the backdrop of the rebellion led by the terrorist Rapid Support Militia against the state and its institutions, stressing the government’s engagement with all proposed peace initiatives, out of its belief in the importance of peace and stability, referring to the agreement signed in Jeddah and the rebel militia’s failure to implement its outcomes.

For his part, the Angolan President thanked the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council for accepting the invitation to visit Angola, noting the solid relations between the two countries.
It is noteworthy that the meeting was attended by the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
