SFPA celebrates International Youth Day

The Sudanese Family Planning Association (SFPA) celebrated International Youth Day this morning at its headquarters in Atbara under the slogan (Empowering Youth to Build Tomorrow)

The event was participated and honored by the leadership of the association’s presidency at the federal level, Mr. Al-Shafi’ Muhammad Ali, Executive Director of the Association, Dr. Suham Jaber, Director of the Digital Services and Interventions Department, Mr. Ibrahim Hussein, Assistant Director, Mr. Salah Jilani, Director of the Media and Behavior Change Department, and branch managers, Ms. Kawthar Muhammad Ibrahim, Executive Director of River Nile State, Ms. Hala Eid Al-Daim, Executive Director of North Kordofan, and Mr. Khalil Ibrahim, Executive Director of North Darfur, in the presence of

The Director of the Media and Behavior Change Department spoke on behalf of the Federal Executive Committee of the Association, praising the initiative of the association’s branch in River Nile State to celebrate the International Youth Day within the framework of the many initiatives led by the association in order to achieve the association’s goals.

Salah Jilani said that the doors of the association are open to all, especially to young people, to benefit from the services it provides in the field of reproductive health, maternal and child health, praising the growing role of young people in this regard..

He called on youth to interact positively with the issues of the homeland and to open up to society more to contribute effectively to the projects of the association and the homeland.

He added that the association is moving steadily towards achieving its goals despite the war and its challenges, indicating that the association is at the forefront of national associations and organizations that have started its work since its outbreak on the second day of the war.
He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leadership of the association and the people of River Nile State for hosting the presidency of the association and all the expatriates affected by the war.

For her part, Ms. Kawthar Mohamed Ibrahim, Executive Director of the Family Planning Association in River Nile State, addressed the celebration, stressing that the association stands with the youth and supports their projects related to the association’s work, noting that the youth are the backbone of the nation and the driving force of the association and society, and that the celebration of International Youth Day comes to shed light on their issues and help empower them to carry out the roles assigned to them.
She said that this year’s celebration comes while our country is experiencing exceptional circumstances due to the war and its repercussions, and called on the youth to play their role at this stage and contribute to
building the nation and development.
Ms. Kawthar stated that the association relies heavily on the youth in implementing its programs, raising awareness and enlightening its messages, especially with regard to reproductive and sexual health.
She called on the youth to benefit from social media and technology in raising awareness of the association’s instructions, services and ways to reach them.
