Ferini Attends First Mass Wedding Carnival in East Nile and Commends Sacrifices of the Armed Forces
The East Nile locality witnessed the first “Mass Wedding Carnival”, organized by the Ministry of Social Development in cooperation with the Suwar Al-Rahma Charity Organization, with wide official and public participation.
The ceremony was attended by Sediq Hassan Ferini, Acting Minister of Social Development of Khartoum State and representative of the State Governor, Ahmed Osman Hamza. The event was also attended by Mr. Mortada Banga, Executive Director of East Nile Locality, along with a number of executive and security leaders, Sufi orders, and community figures from the area.
Ferini conveyed the Governor’s greetings and congratulations to the newlyweds and attendees, emphasizing that these blessed marriages represent a “gesture of gratitude” to the Armed Forces, supporting forces, and the honorable souls who sacrificed for the stability of the state, coinciding with the major victories achieved on various fronts.
He stressed that the war targeted the family structure and authentic Sudanese values, describing the mass wedding initiative as an “honor to Sudanese women” and a reaffirmation of social cohesion and the community’s determination to preserve its identity.
Ferini announced the commitment of the Khartoum State Government and the Ministry of Social Development to supporting and sponsoring all mass wedding initiatives. He also revealed ambitious plans to launch an initiative to marry 1,000 young men and women from East Nile Locality, with the initiative later expanding to include other rural areas and localities across the state.
For his part, Mr. Mortada Banga stated that the celebration began with 50 blessed marriages, representing the first step in a series of events aimed at supporting the marriage of young men and women in the area, with the support of partners and charitable organizations.
He praised the role of Sufi orders, native administrations, and the Armed Forces stationed on the front lines, commending the generosity and solidarity of the people of East Nile and Al-Jarif for their contributions to the success of the event.
