Sudan’s Representative to the AU Receives the AU Envoy for the Prevention of Genocide

The Sudanese Ambassador to Addis Ababa and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Al-Zein Ibrahim Hussein, received the African Union Special Envoy for the Prevention of Genocide and Atrocities, Adama Deng, at his office in the embassy yesterday (Friday). Discussions focused on the outcomes of Deng’s recent visit to Sudan.

Ambassador Al-Zein described the meeting as constructive in a tweet on his X platform. He noted that the discussion covered the results of Adama’s visit to Sudan and his subsequent contacts. He also received a briefing from the Ambassador on the situation in Sudan.

Ambassador Al-Zein Ibrahim urged the African Union to play a more active role and support the government’s efforts through existing national mechanisms to promote human rights. Both sides agreed to continue coordination and cooperation.
