Sudan Launches Third Zakat Campaign in Wad Al-Noura to Support Martyrs’ Families

Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, Moatasim Ahmed Salih, on Saturday launched the Third Zakat Chamber Campaign in Wad Al-Noura, West Al-Jazirah Locality. The event was attended by the representative of the Governor of Al-Jazirah State, the Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, the Secretary of the Zakat Chamber, the Commissioner of the Social Security, Solidarity and Poverty Reduction Commission, representatives of the families of the martyrs, and a delegation representing the victims of Zamzam Camp in El Fasher.

The Minister stated that the campaign was launched in recognition of the sacrifices made by the martyrs of Wad Al-Noura. He announced that the ministry will fully support the rehabilitation of Wad Al-Noura Hospital, including the maintenance of its facilities and medical equipment.

He also revealed that all families of the martyrs will be enrolled in the direct cash assistance programme and provided with health insurance cards. In addition, the ministry will implement income-generating projects to improve their livelihoods and contribute SDG 100 million to the Wad Al-Noura water supply project.
