Higher Education Minister: International University of Africa’s Return to In-Person Learning Supports Sudan’s Recovery

Sudan’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Madawi Musa, affirmed that the International University of Africa is a key pillar of the country’s higher education system, praising its role in developing qualified professionals and strengthening academic cooperation with African and Islamic countries.

During a meeting with the university’s Director, Prof. Hatim Osman Mohamed Khair, the minister reaffirmed the ministry’s full support for the university’s resumption of in-person classes at its main campus in Khartoum as part of the national plan to restore higher education institutions.

The university confirmed that preparations for the new academic term have been completed, with increasing numbers of faculty members and students returning to Sudan. It also reported growing interest from international students, particularly from African countries, reflecting the institution’s strong regional and international reputation.

The minister stressed that the return of universities to their original campuses is a vital step in Sudan’s national recovery and the restoration of a stable higher education system.
