Burhan Makes Decisive Statements

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, paid tribute to the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity, affirming that the Armed Forces will continue their operations until the rebellion is eradicated, and that the country’s future will only be determined through a national consensus that satisfies all Sudanese.

Al-Burhan’s remarks came during his address to worshippers after Friday prayers at the Sheikh al-Tayeb Mosque in the Umm Marahi area of ​​Omdurman. He praised the role of Sufi orders in spreading the tolerant values ​​of Islam and their contribution to strengthening social cohesion and countering destructive ideologies.

He also commended the stance of the residents of northern Omdurman, emphasizing that the rebel forces were unable to enter the area thanks to the resilience of its inhabitants and their support for the Armed Forces. He noted that the initial offensive to liberate Khartoum began in that region.

Al-Burhan affirmed that the Armed Forces rely on the support of the Sudanese people and the will of the fighters in their battle, stating, “We will never let the people down, and we will not hand over this country except through a national consensus among all Sudanese.”

He added that the armed forces and supporting forces would continue the battle for dignity until the country is cleansed of the rebellion, stressing that any initiative or settlement that does not achieve security and stability for Sudan or is not accepted by the Sudanese people will not be pursued.

Al-Burhan concluded his remarks by praising the role of the Samaniyya Sufi order, describing it as one of the oldest Sufi orders in Sudan, which has contributed throughout its history to spreading the Islamic message and strengthening the values ​​of love and brotherhood among the people of the nation.
