European Parliament Adopts Resolution Condemning UAE’s Involvement in Sudan War for the First Time

The European Parliament adopted a resolution on Thursday condemning all forms of foreign interference that fuel the war in Sudan.

It calls on all countries, including the United Arab Emirates, to cease funding, arming, or providing any other form of support to the Rapid Support Forces.

The resolution also urges the European External Action Service and the Council of the European Union to impose sanctions on individuals, entities, and external parties supporting/enabling the war in Sudan, as well as private security companies, such as the UAE-based Global Security Company (GSSG), which is involved in supplying Colombian mercenaries, for violating the UN arms embargo, and to work with the UN Security Council to extend the arms embargo to cover all of Sudan.
