Al-Burhan Sends Congratulatory Message to President of South Sudan

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, sent a congratulatory message today to his brother, the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, congratulating him on his country’s Independence Day.

In his message, Burhan said, “As your country celebrates its glorious Independence Day, it gives me great pleasure to extend to you, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Sudanese people, my warmest congratulations and best wishes for the progress and prosperity of the brotherly people of South Sudan, and for your continued health and happiness.”

Al-Burhan praised the strength and depth of the fraternal ties that bind the two brotherly peoples, emphasizing his commitment to continuing to work together to strengthen and elevate the distinguished cooperation between the two nations for the benefit of both peoples.
