PM Receives Ambassador Belaiche in Khartoum

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris received the African Union envoy to Sudan, Ambassador Mohamed Belaiche, at his office in Khartoum today (Thursday). They discussed issues related to the return of the African Union office to Khartoum to resume its operations.

Ambassador Mohamed Belaiche explained in a press statement that the meeting addressed ways to achieve peace in Sudan and how to coordinate efforts to achieve stability and alleviate the suffering caused by the war for Sudanese citizens, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s office.

Ambassador Belaiche indicated that the meeting emphasized the importance of joint coordination to unify platforms and initiatives aimed at building a new phase of harmony and peace among all Sudanese people. He noted that he listened attentively to all the insightful ideas and opinions presented by His Excellency the Prime Minister during the meeting.

Ambassador Belaych revealed that the African Union leadership will be visiting Sudan in the coming days to develop a shared vision that will contribute to achieving peace as quickly as possible, in a way that satisfies the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

Ambassador Belaych praised Sudan’s historical standing, describing it as having always been “a gateway wide open to all African citizens and a pioneer of good deeds in the African continent.”
