Prof. Al-Sa’im Receives General Secretariat of Documents in River Nile State Delegation 

Vice–Chancellor of Nile Valley University, Professor Hassan Al-Haj Hamad Al-Sa’im, received a delegation from the General Secretariat of Documents and Archives in River Nile State, headed by Dr. Abdel-Azim Abbas Taifour, at his office in the university’s headquarters.

Also present were Dr. Wahid Ali Mohammed, Dean of the University’s Libraries, Professor Wahbi Abdel-Fattah, Director of Nile Valley Center for Documentation and Ethnographic Studies, and Dr. Hassan Siddiq Abdel-Qader, the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Al-Sa’im welcomed the delegation’s visit, emphasizing the university’s steadfast strategy of engaging with state and community institutions and placing all of Nile Valley University’s scientific and technical capabilities at the service of the state’s needs, foremost among them supporting and developing documentary and archival work that preserves the region’s historical and administrative heritage.

Dr. Wahid Ali stated that the visit focused on activating joint research and documentation cooperation, reviewing the university’s infrastructure and advanced digital technologies in the field of archiving, and providing the state’s archives with the necessary expertise.

The meeting resulted in a number of practical outcomes and steps, most notably activating the smart partnership and establishing the foundations for ongoing cooperation between the university and the General Secretariat to ensure the sustainability of digital archiving projects in the state. This includes exchanging expertise and documents by providing the main repository of the National Archives in River Nile State with digital copies of historical materials and manuscripts held by the university. The meeting also addressed training and capacity building through specialized workshops and seminars that bring together staff from both sides to develop and modernize official document management systems in the state.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation from the General Secretariat for Documentation and Archives expressed its deep appreciation for the support and sponsorship of Nile Valley University for this major national project. They commended the university’s pioneering role as a beacon of science and research that supports the development and stability of the generous River Nile State.
