Official Statement Regarding the Situation in Kurmuk

The 4th Infantry Division Command in Damazin, Blue Nile State, confirmed that its forces are holding their positions and maintaining control over operations. It denied what it described as “claims and rumors” being spread by the Rapid Support Forces militia regarding the situation on the ground and in Kurmuk.

In a statement issued Thursday, the Command said its forces are continuing to perform their duties efficiently and are fully prepared to deal with any developments on the ground. It stressed that information regarding the liberation or clearing of areas is issued exclusively through the official platforms of the Armed Forces and the office of its official spokesperson. The Command also reiterated its commitment to continuing military operations until security and stability are restored.
