KSA Provides Over $3 Billion in Aid to Sudan

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced a package of ongoing humanitarian and diplomatic initiatives and efforts to enhance the humanitarian response in Sudan. This is an extension of its approach and leadership in supporting and facilitating international humanitarian efforts, and a reaffirmation of its leading role in assisting brotherly and friendly nations during crises.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs published an infographic explaining that the Kingdom has enabled the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to strengthen its humanitarian operations via the Jeddah-Port Sudan route. This directly contributes to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to those affected in Sudan and enhances the efficiency of the humanitarian response, making it faster and more effective.
The Kingdom affirmed its continued provision of generous and diverse support through multiple humanitarian channels, including evacuation operations and logistical support. Saudi Arabia initiated the first maritime evacuation of stranded individuals from Sudan and also made King Abdulaziz International Airport available to facilitate international humanitarian efforts.
She affirmed that aid provided to Sudan has exceeded $3 billion, in addition to a $145 million contribution to support the 2026 Humanitarian Response Plan.
A major fundraising campaign was also launched through the “Sahem” platform to support the Sudanese people, and air and sea bridges were established to deliver relief and medical aid, including more than 13 relief flights and over 65 ships, to support the humanitarian response.
On the political and diplomatic front, the Kingdom spearheaded intensive efforts to ensure the protection of civilians and facilitate the delivery of aid. The most prominent of these efforts was hosting the Jeddah 1 and Jeddah 2 talks, culminating in the Jeddah Declaration, which aims to protect civilians and facilitate humanitarian work.
She explained that these comprehensive efforts underscore the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to standing with the Sudanese people and harnessing all its diplomatic, logistical, and relief capabilities to alleviate the humanitarian crisis and provide a safe and stable environment for international relief operations.
