Sudanese Red Crescent Launches Food Aid Distribution for 6,000 Displaced Families in Khor Taggat

The Sudanese Red Crescent Society, North Kordofan State branch, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has launched a food assistance distribution program at Khor Taggat Camp for displaced persons, targeting approximately 6,000 families affected by displacement and the humanitarian situation in the state.
The launch ceremony was attended by a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross, alongside the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner of North Kordofan State. Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening humanitarian interventions and providing basic necessities to displaced families, particularly amid the current humanitarian conditions.
This intervention comes as part of the joint efforts between the Sudanese Red Crescent Society and its humanitarian partners aimed at alleviating the suffering of displaced people and enhancing the humanitarian response in affected areas through the provision of food assistance and essential humanitarian services to the most vulnerable groups.
For their part, a number of beneficiaries expressed their appreciation for the humanitarian initiative, which contributed to meeting their basic food needs, stressing the importance of continuing humanitarian support for displaced families inside the camp.
