Al-Burhan Awards Saudi Ambassador the Order of the Nile, First Class, on End of Term

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, met today at his office with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan Jaafar, on the occasion of the end of his term in the country. The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Muawiya Othman Khalid.

The meeting reviewed the course of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen and develop those relations in a manner that serves the common interests of both peoples, emphasizing the importance of advancing these relations towards broader horizons of joint cooperation.

Head of the Sovereignty Council awarded the Saudi Ambassador the Order of the Nile, First Class, in recognition of his significant role in consolidating fraternal ties and strengthening the deep-rooted bilateral relations.

Al-Burhan expressed Sudan’s deep appreciation for the Saudi leadership’s supportive stances towards Sudanese national institutions in various regional and international forums.

For his part, Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Jaafar expressed his pride in this high honor, and thanked the government and people of Sudan for the cooperation and support he received during his tenure.
