For the First Time Since the Outbreak of War: U. of K. Concludes First Week of Exams Decentralized

The Faculties of Education, Medicine, Technical and Developmental Studies, Nursing, and Agriculture concluded the first week of exams at their respective campuses across the university.

At the Faculty of Agriculture, 300 students (84%) sat for the exams, representing a total student body of 355, with an absence rate of 15.5%.

Meanwhile, at the Faculty of Medicine, 265 first-year students (94%) sat for the exams, representing a total student body of 282 registered for this academic year. These exams were held in the Professor Ibrahim Ahmed Omar Hall at the Faculty of Education.

The Faculty of Medicine’s final exams, which began on April 26th, are also continuing in the Faculty of Engineering’s halls. Today, third- and fourth-year students are sitting for their final exams. The third-year student body consists of 219 students, of whom 204 (93.1%) registered, and 191 (930.6%) sat for the exams today.

It is worth noting that these exams are the first decentralized exams conducted across the university’s faculties. From the outbreak of war on April 15, 2023, until October 2025, the university had been conducting exams at centers both inside and outside Sudan, including in Atbara, Kosti, Gedaref, Madani, Shendi, Cairo, Riyadh, and Sharjah.
