Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council Meets with Turkish Ambassador to Sudan

The Secretary-General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Youssef, met today at the Council’s General Secretariat with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Sudan, Fatih Yildiz.The Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council expressed the appreciation of the Sudanese government and people for Turkey’s supportive roles in all fields.

In a press statement, the Turkish Ambassador explained that the meeting discussed the contributions Turkey could make to the reconstruction of the old Presidential Palace, noting Turkey’s readiness to play a significant role in Sudan’s reconstruction efforts.

He also mentioned the previous work undertaken by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in restoring a number of buildings in the city of Suakin as part of the shared cultural heritage between the two countries.
