Joint statement from GCC states deems Iranian actions a dangerous escalation

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the United States strongly condemned the Iranian missile and drone attacks against sovereign territories across the region, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain.

A joint statement issued Monday by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America affirmed that the unjustified Iranian attacks targeted sovereign territories, endangered civilian lives, and caused damage to civilian infrastructure, representing a serious escalation and threat to the security and stability of the region.

The joint statement noted that the indiscriminate and reckless Iranian strikes targeted Bahrain, Iraq (including the Kurdistan Region of Iraq), Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

In their joint statement, the countries affirmed their unity in defending their citizens, sovereignty, and territories. They also reaffirmed their right to self-defense against these attacks, emphasizing their commitment to regional security.

The countries commended the effective cooperation in air and missile defense, which prevented greater loss of life and destruction.
