Federal Ministry of Health Discusses Strategic Selection of Key Recipients of the Global Grant

The Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, held an enlightening meeting at his office at the Federal Ministry of Health to discuss the strategic selection of the main recipient of the Global Support Grant within the eighth cycle for the period 2027-2029. The meeting was attended by a number of directors of public administrations, the coordinator of the Country Coordination Mechanism for Global Support Projects, as well as resident representatives of UNDP and UNICEF.

Dr. Akfa Al-Rifai, coordinator of the Qatari Mechanism, reviewed the strategic justifications for moving to a single main recipient model, explaining the mechanisms that will be followed to select the beneficiary. The attendees also discussed ways to maximize the impact of the grant and enhance institutional coordination to ensure the best benefit for the health sector.

During the meeting, the formation of the Main Recipient Selection Committee was announced, and its members were welcomed. The discussions concluded with a number of recommendations aimed at developing joint action mechanisms, raising the level of coordination to ensure the sustainability of support, and achieving national priorities in the health sector.
