Director General of the Health Insurance Fund discusses with the Governor of North Kordofan the performance and plans of the NHIF

The Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daem, discussed with the Governor of North Kordofan State, Dr. Abdul-Khaliq Abdullatif Wadaatallah, ways to enhance health insurance services in the state.

This was during a meeting between the two sides at the NHIF’s presidency in Khartoum, in the presence of the Director of the Fund’s North Kordofan Branch, Dr. Khattab Al-Samani, and a number of department managers.

The meeting reviewed the Fund’s performance in the state and its plans for the period 2025-2026, as well as the challenges associated with increasing the number of displaced people coming from war-affected areas, especially from the cities of Al-Rahad and Um Rawaba.

The Governor of North Kordofan praised the outstanding performance of the Fund and its interventions under the current circumstances, pointing to the efforts made to expand the umbrella of health coverage.

He also revealed the formation of a joint committee between the North and West Kordofan branches to provide services to the displaced, according to the classification of the insured and the uninsured, while working to find a sponsor for the uninsured groups.

The governor affirmed his commitment to seek to provide the necessary financing to the uninsured by activating the role of social responsibility for institutions and companies.

For his part, the Director General of the Fund praised the performance of the North Kordofan branch and the level of coordination with the state government, pointing out that the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health commended the partnership between the NHIF , the health sector, and partners in the state.
