A meeting between the Ministries of Health and Communications to implement digital transformation measures

A meeting was held in the Great Hall of the Federal Ministry of Health in Khartoum on Tuesday, between the Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, and the Ministry’s departments, along with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation.

The engineers of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation reviewed the beginnings of the Baladna platform and the successive developments following the formation of the work team on November 6, 2024, stressing that the war caused great damage to the country’s telecommunications infrastructure, which created many challenges and obstacles that were overcome with work and perseverance.

The engineers revealed that 54 government institutions have participated in the Baladna platform, in addition to 6,624 private companies, pointing out that the system accommodates all forms of requests and requirements, which facilitates
the digital transformation process without complications, pointing to the beginning of the introduction of several departments of the Federal Ministry of Health within the Baladna platform, including the Medical Headquarters, the Blood Bank, and others, there is an agreement with the General Directorate of Therapeutic Medicine to select two rural hospitals and another specialized hospital in the state of Gedaref to integrate them into the system.
