Cabinet’s Governance and Administration Sector Discusses Governance Issues, Combating Corruption, and Promoting Human Rights

The Governance and Administration Sector of the Council of Ministers, chaired by Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabroun, approved the national program for developing senior management, raising the efficiency of senior leaders, and promoting results-based leadership during its meeting today (Thursday) in Khartoum.

The sector also approved the project to establish the Supreme Council for Good Governance in state institutions and emphasized the necessity of establishing a unified national system for the electronic archiving and management of documents.

According to a press release issued by the Council of Ministers’ media office, the sector discussed the Ministry of Interior’s projects related to establishing the authority of the state, the rule of law, and maintaining internal security. It stressed the importance of strengthening the role of the Civil Defense Forces in responding immediately to all potential disasters, as well as enhancing efforts to combat smuggling and protect borders and nature reserves.

The sector reviewed projects related to promoting human rights, considering it a top priority, and emphasized the necessity of the Ministry of Justice’s oversight of the state’s legal affairs.

In addition, the Governance and Administration sector stressed the need to strengthen the foundations of decentralized governance to improve basic services, achieve balanced development, and promote social peace, in addition to tightening coordination between central, state, and local levels of government, and raising the efficiency of the administrative apparatus in the states.
