The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development chairs the meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Pension and Social Security Fund

The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Motasim Ahmed Salih, chaired the meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Pension and Social Security Fund today. During the meeting, the plans and budget for the year 2026 for both the Fund and the Social Security Investment Authority were discussed, along with financial and insurance performance reports and the conditions of the insured and pensioners.
The Board of Directors approved the budgets and action plans, emphasizing financial sustainability, exchange control, and improving the efficiency of collection to ensure the fulfillment of insurance obligations and the protection of the rights of beneficiaries.
One of the most prominent outcomes of the meeting is the improvement of pensions and efforts to bridge the gap in the entitlement differentials between pension and social insurance systems in order to enhance justice and safeguard the rights of pensioners and insured individuals.
The meeting also directed the restructuring of the investment portfolio of the investment body through diversification of investments, reducing risks, and achieving stable and sustainable returns, which serve the Fund’s commitments in the medium and long term.
The Minister stated that the next stage is one of institutional reform and financial discipline, as well as the strengthening of the role of the Fund as one of the pillars of social protection, with the investment body playing its role in protecting and developing the Fund’s surplus funds and ensuring financial sustainability.
