More than 100 RSF militia members surrender their weapons
The Sudanese General Intelligence Service in North Kordofan State celebrated the return of more than 100 members of the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia to the fold of the nation. The ceremony was attended by the Governor of North Kordofan, Mr. Abdul Khaliq Abdul Latif Wada’a Allah, the State Police Director, the Director of the General Intelligence Service in the state, along with other agency leaders, officials, and representatives of the local administration.
For his part, the commander of the returning group, Commander Makki Al-Tijani, affirmed that their decision to return to the nation was based on complete conviction and a sincere response to the national call. He praised the warm welcome they received from all quarters.
He explained that this return represents a new beginning towards joint national action, emphasizing their complete readiness to stand with the nation and fight alongside the Armed Forces and their supporting agencies.
Commander Makki al-Tijani pointed out that the so-called “founding” government has no real existence on the ground, describing it as merely a name that does not reflect the aspirations of the citizens. He explained that their return was a result of the injustice and deception they suffered at the hands of that group, which prompted them to reconsider their positions, return to the right path, and side with the nation.
In his speech during the celebration, the Governor of North Kordofan praised the high national spirit displayed by the returnees, welcoming their return and their response to the voice of reason and the nation. He appealed to all those still in the ranks of the rebel militia to follow their example and return to the embrace of the homeland.
He emphasized that the homeland is large enough for everyone and that the current stage requires concerted efforts and national unity in order to achieve security and stability and build Sudan.
The Governor explained that the rebel militia has worked during the past period to spread hate speech and attempt to dismantle the social fabric among the components of Sudanese society.
