PM Meets with the Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Head of Her Country’s Delegation to the Munich Security Conference

His Excellency Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris met yesterday, Friday, February 13, 2026, with Ms. Thérèse Kaikwamba, Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo and head of her country’s delegation participating in the Munich Security Conference.

His Excellency the Prime Minister emphasized the historical ties between the two brotherly countries and the commonalities that unite them. He congratulated the Democratic Republic of Congo on its election to a non-permanent seat on the Security Council. He then addressed the developments in Sudan and the ongoing war of aggression against the country. His Excellency also discussed the government’s efforts to achieve peace and stability, culminating in the peace initiative he presented to the Security Council last December. For her part, Ms. Therese affirmed her country’s full support for the unity, stability, and territorial integrity of Sudan, and its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exploring ways to support and develop them. His Excellency extended an invitation to the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo to visit Sudan.
