Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid in White Nile State (HAC) receives the UN Humanitarian Coordinator (OCHA) and her accompanying delegation

The Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid in White Nile State, Dr. Lamia Abdullah Al-Asha, received Ms. Denise Brown, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator, and her accompanying delegation at her office this morning. A meeting was held to discuss the humanitarian situation of internally displaced persons (IDPs), with representatives from various sectors in attendance.*
Dr. Lamia Abdullah briefed the visiting delegation on the humanitarian situation and noted that the state is experiencing a large and continuous influx of IDPs, increasing the urgent need for organizations to provide assistance.

Denise confirmed that her visit aimed to assess the humanitarian situation and coordinate efforts with partners to increase humanitarian support in all areas. She also commended the Humanitarian Aid Commission’s efforts in strengthening coordination among partners.
The visit also included a trip to the Qoz Al-Salam camp in Kosti locality to observe the humanitarian situation firsthand.
The visit concluded with a meeting with the Governor of White Nile State, Lieutenant General Qamar Al-Din Fadl Al-Mawla, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. Al-Zein Saad. Denise expressed her pleasure at visiting the state and affirmed her support and commitment, through partners, to addressing the issues of displaced persons and ways to provide humanitarian assistance to the state.
