Khartoum Health Ministry Celebrates Graduation of 350 Volunteers in Health and Rapid Response Training Program

The Khartoum State Ministry of Health, represented by the General Directorate of Training and Research, celebrated the graduation of 350 volunteers in the field of rapid response and emergency response at the Tijani Hilal Institute. The ceremony, held under the slogan “For an Aware Community and Rapid Response,” was attended by Dr. Hajar Idris, representing the Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health; Dr. Ahmed Awad Al-Karim, Director of the General Directorate of Training and Research; and Jawahir Musa, Dean of the Tijani Hilal Institute.

During her address at the ceremony, Dr. Hajar Idris emphasized the significant and valuable role the volunteers played in responding to various emergencies, providing effective assistance that supported the Ministry’s efforts. She noted that the volunteers are an integral part of the state’s healthcare system. The Ministry announced its commitment to conducting a specialized workshop for volunteers in the fields of quality and infection control, emphasizing the pivotal role volunteers will play in rapid response and emergencies during the coming phase.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Awad Al-Karim, Director of the General Administration for Training and Research, explained that this course is the first comprehensive official training program at the Ministry of Health level. He indicated that the program is a result of lessons learned during the war period, stressing that health is a shared societal responsibility and that the Ministry is a key partner of the community, and it is its duty to qualify and train volunteers. He added that the program also included courses in spraying and health campaigns.

For her part, Dean of the Tijani Hilal Institute, saluted the Armed Forces, the regular forces, and those mobilized, praising their great sacrifices. She said, “Were it not for their sacrifices, we would not be able to stand here today. We stand behind them, and we will continue to make sacrifices for the sake of health and well-being.” Volunteer Mohammed Abdullah, speaking on behalf of the graduates, expressed his pride in participating in the program, saying, “We are soldiers, and within us lies a spirit of giving. We have learned that first aid is a source of hope that restores life.”

At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduation certificates were presented to the volunteers, and the Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health was honored by the General Directorate of Training and Research in recognition of his efforts and continuous support for training and development programs.
