The Ministry of Social Development discusses the phenomena of homelessness and begging

Siddiq Hassan Farini, Director General of the Ministry of Social Development ، Acting Minister , Siddiq Hassan Farini, stressed that the phenomena of homelessness and begging are urgent social issues that have worsened in the wake of the war and require comprehensive treatment based on proper planning and joint coordination between the relevant authorities.

This came during his chairmanship of an extensive meeting that included the directors of social development in the seven localities, the Child Welfare Council, and the General Directorate of Social Welfare, which was dedicated to discussing the two phenomena and setting priorities for the next phase to address them.

The meeting discussed the estimates of the numbers seen in the localities, the mechanisms for counting the two phenomena, the preparation of accurate databases, in addition to the importance of conducting preliminary social surveys with the participation of researchers, and providing the necessary work aids in order to contribute to building effective interventions to address them. The meeting stressed the need to develop practical plans at the local level.
