National Action Plan for the Protection of Children in Khartoum State

The Director General of the Ministry of Social Development, Acting Minister Siddiq Hassan Frieni, chaired the first meeting of the follow-up committee of the National Action Plan for the Protection of Children in Khartoum State, in the presence of the committee members from the relevant authorities. The meeting reviewed the situation of child soldiers in Khartoum State and discussed some of the steps taken to reunite them with their families.

The meeting also addressed how to protect children and ensure their presence in safe environments that meet their needs, restore their psychological balance, and provide necessary services for them, in addition to learning from the experience of the River Nile State.

Frieni affirmed the commitment of the Khartoum State Government to protect and care for children, in addition to arranging the children’s situation, which is one of the tasks of the committee, and working with partners to implement the activities. His Excellency directed the development of a comprehensive plan.
