A joint meeting between the FMoH and UNICEF to review performance and planning

The Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) conducted a three-day meeting with UNICEF to review the 2025 performance report and plan for 2026.
The Director of the General Directorate of Basic Health Care, Dr. Musab Siddique, stressed that the Ministry’s meeting with UNICEF represents a strategic opportunity to redirect joint efforts towards evidence-based recovery and to build a more resilient and sustainable health system. The meeting sets priorities for review over the three days, assessing the implementation of the 2024 recommendations, aligning work with the National Plan 2026-2030, and establishing priorities for 2026.

Siddique pointed to UNICEF’s vital role in supporting maternal and child health, immunization, nutrition, child health, reproductive health, water and sanitation, and emergency response, emphasizing the importance of strengthening community health systems and rehabilitating basic health servicesand strengthening data systems.
The Director of the General Directorate of Planning and Policies, Dr. Al-Mughira Al-Amin, praised the continuous support from UNICEF and other international organizations, and the great role played during the war.
Al-Amin stressed that the review of the Joint Action Plan for the year 2025 with UNICEF is an excellent methodology and paves the way for the 2026 plan.

The Director General of the Directorate General of International Health, Dr. Alaa Mudassir, noted the strength of the extended partnership with UNICEF and cooperation, which is based on trust, common priorities and permanent commitment to serving the health of children, women and communities in Sudan, explaining that the meeting represents an important opportunity to review achievements and challenges, coordinate efforts and set unified priorities that enhance the effectiveness and effectiveness of the health system and the sustainability of basic services at the federal and state levels.
