EU: RSF Committed a War Crime in Kologi

The European Union strongly condemned the attack on Kologi in South Kordofan State, carried out by the Rapid Support Forces militia, which resulted in dozens of casualties, mostly children.

The EU Commissioner for Crisis Management, Haja Lahbib, stated that what happened in Kologi “constitutes a clear war crime,” emphasizing that targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure is strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law.

Lahbib added that “the excessive violence against the population requires urgent accountability,” calling on all parties to the conflict to respect their legal obligations and protect civilians.

The director of Kologi locality said that the death toll from the Rapid Support Forces’ bombing had risen to 80, including 46 children, amidst ongoing fighting in the Kordofan states and UN warnings of a catastrophic deterioration in the humanitarian situation.
