The Minister of Higher Education meets with the Governor of White Nile State

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Mudawi Moussa, received Major General Qamar El-Din Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla, the Governor of White Nile State, and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s temporary headquarters in Port Sudan, within the framework of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and the national universities in the states.

Prof. Mudawi appreciated the interest of the White Nile State government in strengthening cooperative relations with the Ministry of Higher Education, pointing out that the current stage requires concerted efforts between the center and the states to advance higher education and scientific research institutions in the country.

He stressed that his ministry is ready to provide the necessary technical and academic support to universities and colleges in White Nile State, and to work with the state government to rehabilitate infrastructures and improve the university environment, pointing out that higher education represents the main pillar to achieve sustainable development and build a knowledge society.

The governor praised the great role played by the Ministry of Higher Education in developing academic institutions and supporting educational stability, stressing the keenness of the state government to create the appropriate environment for students and overcome the obstacles facing the educational process.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of important issues related to the development of the higher education sector in the state, including the training and qualification of academic cadres and the improvement of services at universities in various regions of the state.
