The Federal Minister of Health and the Undersecretary inspected health institutions in preparation for their return to service

As part of the Federal Ministry of Health’s efforts to restart the suspended health institutions, the Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ali Babiker Sayed Ahmed, and a number of the ministry’s leaders, paid a field visit that included the National Public Health Laboratory, the Central Cold Chain for Immunization, and the Institute of Public Health.
The delegation discussed the removal of rubble and the preparation of sites, while stressing the importance of restoring electricity and providing transformers to ensure the resumption of services as soon as possible. The Minister explained that these federal institutions are an indispensable reference for services, especially in light of the current health conditions, pointing out that the National Public health laboratory represents the cornerstone in the fight against epidemics and emergency diagnosis.
The Minister pointed out that the Militias targeted the historic laboratory , which was founded in 1903, destroying a legacy that extends to 120 years of national action in the field of public health.
The Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health confirmed that the Estac factory will return stronger, God willing, thanks to the efforts of the working cadres and the ministry’s commitment to rehabilitate it, pointing out that the work began in three stages, the first of which is the removal of rubble, while praising the spirit of the workers and their quest to restore services.
During the visit to the central cold chain, the undersecretary pointed to the extent of the destruction caused by the terrorist militia, stressing that the damage is repairable, and that Sudan will benefit from it again after previously relying on the state’s warehouses, with the start of work on the electricity connection.
The delegation also highlighted the return efforts at the Institute of Public Health, stressing the importance of resuming its great role in supporting the federal health system.
