The campaign against diphtheria concludes with the vaccination of 2,074,503 people in six states

The Federal Chamber of the Diphtheria Vaccination Campaign held its final meeting on Friday, revealing that 2,074,503 people have been vaccinated cumulatively during the days of the campaign across the six states, out of the total target of 2,081,275 people, with an initial coverage rate of 99.7%. They noted the identification of fixed centers for the recovery of droplets from those who did not receive vaccination during the campaign in the River Nile.

The Chamber reviewed the reports from the liaison officers regarding the plans of the federal supervisors and their observations on the teams, home visits, geographical coverage, in addition to health promotion activities in its various aspects, supply, side effects, monitoring of cases during the campaign, and the status of coverage, confirming the safety and free-of-charge nature of the vaccine.

It is worth mentioning that the campaign was launched from November 22 to 27, in the states of the River Nile (second round), the first round in Kassala (Kassala, New Halfa, Khashm al-Qirba, and the Atbara River), the northern (Dongola, Meroe and Dabba), Khartoum (Karri), the Red Sea (Haya), and the Blue Nile (Damazin).
