South Sudan announces resumption of oil exports via Sudanese territory

Ministry of Petroleum of the Republic of South Sudan announced the resumption of crude oil transport and export operations via pipelines to the export terminal at the Red Sea State in Sudan, following a temporary halt.

This decision came after drone attacks targeted oil infrastructure, specifically facilities in the Heglig and Jebel Aulia oil fields.

In an official statement, the ministry confirmed that exports have returned to normal, noting that the attacks were the primary reason for the suspension. The statement added that repairs to the pipeline were successfully completed, enabling the resumption of oil pumping from South Sudanese fields.

This announcement follows orders issued by the Sudanese government on May 10, 2025, to halt export operations through certain facilities, citing what it described as a “significant risk” to operations resulting from previous drone strikes on pumping stations and oil installations.
