Ibrahim Jaber: The Higher Education Report Reflects Solid Institutional Work Paving the Way for the Return of Life to Khartoum

Lieutenant General Engineer (Navy) Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim , a Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and the head of the Supreme Committee for Creating a Safe Environment for the Return of Citizens to Khartoum State praised the detailed and accurate presentation made by Prof. Ahmed Mudawi Moussa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressing that the report reflects solid institutional work that expresses the state’s ability to deal with challenges and return its vital institutions to their normal track.
The praise came during the expanded meeting held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Government of Khartoum State, with the participation of ministers, heads of sub-committees, and the governor of the state, where the meeting reviewed the efforts of the Supreme Committee during the past period to restore the situation to normal and create conditions for the return of citizens and the resumption of basic services.
Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber stressed that the solid plans followed by the Ministry of Higher Education, in addition to the intensive field movements, embody the spirit of national responsibility and dedication to serving the education sector, pointing out that the efforts made to return universities to their campuses despite the exceptional circumstances are a model to be followed in government work.
Mudawi reviewed a report on the series of visits carried out by the Ministry’s teams to all higher education institutions in Khartoum State, to identify the challenges they face and the urgent needs for reconstruction, in addition to following up on the efforts for the start of the new academic year and the procedures for accepting students of the deferred batch.
He explained that a large number of institutions have already returned to their original premises despite the extensive destruction of some facilities as a result of the attacks carried out by the rebel Rapid Support Militia, praising the strong determination of university administrations to overcome the challenges and resume their educational mission, and stressed the coordination between the Ministry and the National Fund for Student Welfare with the aim of preparing students’ dormitories and providing basic services such as water, electricity and transportation.
